Catalytic Converter Delete (Cat Off)
ECU software that prevents the warning light and power loss on cars with a removed or replaced catalytic converter.
A motorsport-focused software solution for the faults, power loss and limp mode caused by a clogged diesel particulate filter (DPF/FAP).
Legal notice · Track / motorsport only
Software for emission systems (catalytic converter, DPF/FAP, OPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR, etc.) is intended solely for track / motorsport and closed-course use. Driving vehicles with these systems disabled on public roads, and presenting them for TÜVTÜRK inspection, may be against regulations. On request, the original software can be restored.
About the service
The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), also known as FAP in the PSA and Renault groups, traps soot particles in the exhaust of diesel engines. When the filter fills up, the ECU raises the exhaust temperature to burn off the soot; this is called regeneration. On cars used mainly for short trips and city driving, regeneration cannot complete and the filter clogs, resulting in problems such as a warning light, power loss, limp mode (emergency mode) and fuel diluting the engine oil.
DPF delete software disables the regeneration strategies, differential pressure sensor monitoring, soot load calculations and related fault codes in the ECU. Physically, the filter housing is emptied or replaced with a pipe. The software also adjusts the injection strategies accordingly so the engine runs properly and smoothly in its new configuration.
For road-going cars, our first recommendation is always DPF cleaning, a forced regeneration and fixing the sensor/injector problems that caused the clogging. A DPF delete increases particulate emissions and smoke opacity; it is only for track / motorsport and closed-course use and may cause problems at the TÜVTÜRK inspection. The original software is kept and can be restored on request.
Benefits
Process
Step 01
Fault memory and DPF data (soot load, differential pressure, regeneration history) are read.
Step 02
The source of the clogging (sensor, injector, EGR, thermostat, etc.) is assessed; alternative solutions for road use are discussed.
Step 03
The original software is backed up; DPF functions and related fault codes are disabled in the software.
Step 04
After the physical work, checks are done with a road test and datalog.

Often, yes. If the filter isn’t physically damaged, cleaning it and fixing the root cause of the blockage (sensor, injector, EGR, thermostat, etc.) keeps the car legal to drive on public roads. We look at this option first.
On a healthy engine with properly prepared software, there’s no noticeable black smoke; however, without the filter, particulate emissions rise and the tailpipe gets sooty. For this reason, the car may fail the emissions test.
Only for track, motorsport and closed-course use. Driving a vehicle with its DPF disabled on public roads, or presenting it for inspection, may be against the law.
Compatibility
Availability depends on the car’s ECU type, engine and hardware. In our vehicle database, this option is listed for the number of engines below; you can check by selecting your own car.
