We’ve gathered the most frequently asked questions about the services in this category.
Got an issue specific to your car?Write to us with the make, model and engine, and we’ll tell you what can be done.
VAG Group Coding (VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, CUPRA)Does coding affect the car’s warranty?
Coding changes settings in the car’s own control units; no parts are added and everything can be reset to factory settings. Since warranty terms may vary by manufacturer and dealer, we recommend that owners of cars under warranty make their decision with this in mind.
VAG Group Coding (VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, CUPRA) detailsVAG Group Coding (VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, CUPRA)Which features can be activated on my car?
That depends on the model year, equipment package and the software version of the control units. Send us your chassis number (VIN) or your car’s details on WhatsApp and we can put together a list of the features that can be activated.
VAG Group Coding (VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, CUPRA) detailsVAG Group Coding (VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, CUPRA)Can coding damage the electrical system?
No. Battery voltage is kept stable during coding, and only existing settings are changed. Since coding a feature the car doesn’t have the hardware for can cause a fault code, we only activate features your car supports.
VAG Group Coding (VW, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, CUPRA) detailsBMW & MINI CodingWhich BMW series can be coded?
A wide range of coding is available for E, F and G series BMWs and MINI models. Since the features that can be activated vary with the series, model year and control unit software, we draw up a precise list using your car’s details.
BMW & MINI Coding detailsBMW & MINI CodingWill the coding be wiped if the dealer updates the software?
Some software updates carried out by the dealer may reset coding to factory settings. In that case, we can reapply the coding.
BMW & MINI Coding detailsBMW & MINI CodingWhat is Active Sound Design, and can it be switched off?
Active Sound Design is a system that amplifies the engine sound inside the cabin through the speakers. For drivers who prefer the natural engine sound, it can be switched off or toned down through coding.
BMW & MINI Coding detailsMercedes-Benz CodingCan the AMG menu be activated on non-AMG cars?
On many current Mercedes-Benz models, the AMG menu can be activated through coding if the cluster software supports it. Suitability depends on the body code and the cluster software version.
Mercedes-Benz Coding detailsMercedes-Benz CodingCan colours be added to a car without ambient lighting?
Coding only activates existing hardware. If the car doesn’t have ambient lighting hardware, it can’t be added through coding; we give separate advice where hardware needs to be added.
Mercedes-Benz Coding detailsApple CarPlay & Android Auto ActivationDoes my car support CarPlay?
That depends on your multimedia unit’s hardware. Just send us a photo of your screen or the unit details and your chassis number (VIN) on WhatsApp; we’ll check suitability and get back to you.
